Why Would Anyone NOT Want Free WiFi?

Some dolt who works at KitKat decided to dream up this crazy installation at a bench in Amsterdam that blocks WiFi signals in the immediate area. You know, so you can have a break from your life.

Unfortunately, most of my breaks consist of wanting to look at things that might require me to have WiFi. Maybe you should offer free WiFi as part of your genius plan, KitKat. What, you think any of us actually want to talk to people in real life? Pfffffft.

I didn’t understand any of this. Must be having a dumb life day.

  • TruuuV

Unless you’ve also got something there that blocks phone calls and text messages as well you’re shit outta luck on the escaping life for a bit.

Alternatively, turn off your peripheral gadget rather than relying on a corporation to block the signals to it…. I believe we used to call it self-control?

      I have outsourced my control.
      I am currently remoted controlled.

but i think I am starting to regret the decision

I’ve heard rumors that there are vibrating panties that allow you to give a code to others to operate them via website….

Somehow my mind connected this with starwars and the idea that these are teasing tools.

I’ve seen small metallic balls that are activated by a text message…. basically the same premise.

So someone can remotely give you an orgasm? I’m not sure if that’s creepy or exciting.

            • TruuuV

Yeah, meant to be that women can be sat at work and their significant other can drop them a text and make things all exciting and tingly. I’d just constantly be on edge. Imagine walking into your bosses office as they go off “Sir I just waAAAAAanted to let you *cough* know that I got the project finished.”

The ad says that it blocks all signal within 5 meters.

If it does block cell signals, then I believe that it’s quite illegal since it would interfere with 911 calls.

As long as you get some free KitKats instead.

    • http://dailyoftheday.com/ Lascivious Lass

I love kit kats; tey’re just a perfect blend. Recently I tried the dark chocolate ones, but I found the flavor too different from the original even though I usually prefer dark chocolate.

      • Squint

Haven’t tried those, but fan of the original. Also the big KitKats are quite good too, they also had a cinnamon chocolate flavour a while back, those were fantastic.

        • http://dailyoftheday.com/ Lascivious Lass

*drool* I <3 anything with cinnamon. I've *almost* been tempted to try the cinnamon challenge simply because I think I might have an immunity built up – but then I also don't want to ruin one of my favorite things for life!

          • Squint

            It’s a trap!

      • TruuuV

They recently started doing “vote for your favourite” on the kitkat chunkies over here. Peanut Butter won the last one and this time it’s mint, hazelnut, coconut or chocolate fudge.

It’s the sort of advertising I can get on board with, they get more money and we get more flavours to choose from.

        • http://dailyoftheday.com/ Lascivious Lass

          Mmmm..hazelnut!

      • SumAnon

One of my biggest longings for Japan comes from the US’s terrible dirth of interesting kitKat flavors. I still get friends to send me some via airmail. Green Tea, cola, passion fruit, peanut butter….

  • http://robvincent.net/ Rob T Firefly

How long before someone walking past misses a life-or-death message because of Kit-Kat?

    • TheOtherJK

Then they’d get laughed at for trusting important messages to an unregulated part of the EM spectrum. And then they’d die.
