All of us at one point or another have had grandiose dreams about leaving behind our mundane lives to go do something great and make a difference in the world. You could be one of those people, but just in cause you’re not cut out for it (I’d say that’s about 99% of us), then just follow the frog.

You can help save the rainforests by buying products that have the little green frog seal of approval from The Rainforest Alliance. For a list of all the certified products, check here. Or just look for the seal before you buy and donate if you feel so inclined.

Not ending up in a Nicaraguan hospital? Count me in.

    Yeah, um, while I’m already skeptical of campaigns that rely on individual consumer behavior as their raison d’etre, I’m going to have to note that this campaign fails to address getting people to stop buying the things that do contribute to deforestation, instead getting them to focus on buying things that (ostensibly) don’t. But does “following the frog” cover all of the product categories that result in destruction of the rainforest? I doubt it. How is a consumer to know which non-frog products might actually be damaging to the rainforest and which have nothing to do with that and merely fuel mineral resource wars in central Africa or worker suicides at Chinese tech factories?
