If you haven’t seen the new HBO show True Detective don’t worry I’ll help you through it. I’ll try not to give away too much of the plot.
It stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. It is set in New Orleans and jumps from the past to the present as the detectives chronicle an infamous case they were partnered on.
Of course, they have southern accents and if you’re NOT A) from Texas, B) have family from Louisiana or Mississippi, or C) have ever lived near or in the aforementioned states people just sound like Boomhauer from King of the Hill. Luckily? I full-fill all these requirements. And, if you couple those accents with the deep-reflective-almost-surreal scripted dialogue (I can’t think of the word) you hear from the characters it starts to just sound a lot like gibberish.
Here’s a promo from the actual show for comparison:
A parody of Dan Savage’s “It Gets Better” campaign, this latest from comedian Jason Headley is here to let the popular kids from high school know that life isn’t going to get any better for them.
Nope. And you’ll be talking about the “glory days” for the rest of your life. Enjoy it while it lasts, kids.
We bring you the only and final report from Sochi that DotD will be posting from The Onion. It’s so absurd that I pretty much believe it’s completely real. Especially with reports coming in from the athletes that the dating app Tinder is “next level” there.
You get your freak on, you athletic and attractive people.
