A Trip to the Dentist from the Bacteria’s Point of View

18 May 2013     Animation, Video, Vimeo

Animator John Cody Kim created this entertaining little short about what a trip to the dentist looks like from perspective of the bacterial empire that resides in your teeth. I kind of feel bad for going to the dentist now. I’m really sorry, Bacteria King.

The Sugar Bugs

07 May 2013     Animation, Video, Vimeo

The best animated short film you’ll ever watch where you actually feel sorry for all the germs in your mouth.

It’s devastating when you lose the battle, but if your dental history is anything like mine and my family, the germs eventually win the war. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to guiltily brush my teeth and remorsefully use some mouthwash.

Micro Mayhem

An amazing stop motion animation from Stoopid Buddy Stoodios shows some vehicular road rage in the form of tiny little cars.

Looks like Gumby has had enough of your shit.

Even Comic Sans had to start somewhere. Ben Barrett-Forrest explains how we got to that point. Turns out, it all started with Johann Gutenberg.

Maker vs Marker

06 May 2013     Animation, Awesome, Video, Youtube

An amazing stop motion animated film from Jonny Lawrence, where a Street Fighter style fight takes place between an animator and his drawing. It was done entirely on a whiteboard, with music from Brian Sadler.

Watch his other animation The Marker Maker for some bonus whiteboard stop motion.

Sleepytime

03 May 2013     Animation, Short Film, Sleepytime, Video, Vimeo

From the mind of Andy Martin comes an animated short about robots and love.

What do the robots do after they have taken over the planet. It turns out the ones on Planet Four find harmony and discuss philosophical matters of enlightenment, beauty and magnificence.

You can check out more of Andy Martin’s illustrations and the rest of his “Illustrated Aliens” series here.

I love you? I love you.

thanks andy!

If “Drive” Were an 8 Bit Video Game

02 May 2013     Animation, Awesome, Entertainment, Video, Video Games, Youtube

Everyone just absolutely loved Ryan Gosling and director Nicolas Winding Refn’s 2011 film Drive. You know what they would also love?

A SEGA and NES game for the movie. Seriously, it looks awesome. Above is the SEGA version and below is a pretty poor quality NES version of what the games might look like. The Nintendo one is great, however, because we actually get to see the driver and he is adorable.
