Billy the Chihuahua Has Passed Away Unexpectedly

Today DotD received a sad email from The Humane Society that Billy the Chihuahua has passed away unexpectedly. After being rescued by Adam Parascandola from years of horror inside a puppy mill, Billy’s story went viral. His passing was unexpected, but The Humane Society has created a tribute page to Billy’s Legacy.

Goodbye, Billy, you adorably unique puppy you. I’m glad you were able to spend your last bit of time on earth with a family who loved you dearly.

    I’m so glad Billy got to spend his last days in a home, that he didn’t die in that hell hole.

    Every puppy mill prisoner should be able to experience, even briefly, the kind of life a dog should have. It makes me weep to think that Billy was one of the ‘lucky’ ones.

    I remember making a comment on the video where they introduced Billy… I said I bawled my eyes out and couldn’t even blame it on the ninjas cutting onions.

    Now, I’m bawling even harder. I am happy that he was able to live happily for a while and have the love of a good hearted human being. I am so upset he passed on but at least it wasn’t at that damned puppy mill.

    Broke my heart to see that Billy died. We adopted a long coat chihuahua from Ohio (we are from BC Canada). Little Mr. Jeets had been terribly abused. His teeth were rotten, he had ear mites and extremely underweight. We have had him for seven years now and he still has anxiety issues. We even bought another dog for him to socialize with and he did come out of his shell considerably. He loves his little buddy (a Boston terrier). Mr. Jeets had been living in dirty straw which served as his dining room and bathroom. The unfortunate thing about his condition is that he was a US champ for his breed, but unfortunately the breeder didn’t pay enough attention to who he sold him to. He’s just a beautiful little guy. Looks very much like Billy only Mr. Jeets is black and white. My heart goes out to Adam who rescued him from his life of misery and loved him so much.
