LAHWF, the YouTube kings of cringe-worthy, awkward moments, releases their “best of 2012″ video which features their most cringe-worthy, awkward moments.
You can’t shake this kind of awkward off. It will follow you around all day long, much like the guy from LAHWF does to his unsuspecting victims…I mean, subjects.
It’s my favorite time of year again! The time when people start making philanthropic gestures and I get to once again believe in the humanity of the world.
The YouTube pranks showing this goodwill are some of my favorites, not because I know that I’m gonna make you cry while you’re at work (that brings me a small amount of evil joy), but also because it starts the conversation about whether these videos are more beneficial or detrimental to society.
Andrew Hales of LAHWF teamed up with GungHo (yep, the same people who backed the Homeless Family Makeover) and went out to grocery stores where he paid for random people’s groceries.
Regardless of how you feel about these pranks, the bottom line remains that at least a few people out there are getting a little bit of help that they need. It probably came for them at the perfect time of year, when a lot of families have to make the choice between buying food and buying presents for their kids and loved ones. And maybe, hopefully, it’ll encourage everyone to go out and make a donation, volunteer at a shelter, or just do one simple act of kindness everyday.
Yep, just making you cry in public. No big deal over here.
Andrew from LAHWF decided to dress up as Macklemore for Halloween and to test his costume’s authenticity, headed out to the Maverick Center in Utah where Macklemore would be performing later that night.
The costume, apparently, was convincing enough not only to fans, but also to security at the center, who let him come through the back entrance. Of course, he was kicked out shortly after with his “entourage,” but he still managed to make it in.
If only the real Macklemore would have run into him in the back area.
Pranksters Stuart Edge and Andrew Hales of LAHWF decided to make some nights for some unsuspecting servers one evening by tipping them an obscene amount of money for their services.
Waiters in Utah make 2.13/hr. Went around Orem to some of the diners late one night, been wanting to do this idea for a while, finally pulled it off with Stuart’s help. Hope you liked this, thanks for watching. – Andrew Hales
$200 tip? I barely make that in a week. Someone needs to come prank me now, please.
Andrew Hales of LAHWF has taken his zany and awkward pranking tactics overseas to Chengdu, China, where he attempts to take the umbrellas of people walking on the streets. From Andrew’s YouTube page, he notes that in that part of China, foreigners are treated like celebrities, so snatching up the umbrellas proved to be a pretty easy task.
LAHWF gets super awkward again and eats people’s leftovers in front of them.
I remember once on a scavenger hunt on a ferry, one of the things we had to do was sit down next to a stranger and eat off their plate. Of course, I chose the little 70 year old lady (easy pickings!!!) and proceeded to eat her entire muffin. She just looked at me and said, “Oh, dear. Are you hungry? Let me go get you a banana.” I felt so terrible that I ended up buying her a full lunch. However, the look on her children’s faces was pretty priceless.
You know how LAHWF performs ridiculously awkward pranks on people that are, for the most part, completely harmless? If you’re on the fast track to hell like me, do you ever wish that someone would just lose it on him?
You’re in for a treat because WHY would anyone think that hijacking someone’s cellphone would be a good prank?
